Estimation Fun Games

(1)
These Estimation games are fun for all ages! Split your class into 5 teams and display the question and picture on the interactive whiteboard. Play the timer and the teams will have 30 seconds to discuss their best estimate for that question. Then take each teams' estimate and reveal the answer. Closest team gets three points, second closest two points and third closest gets one point. Other teams get nothing! Features 3 versions (1 for each term) with mixed questions - perfect for end of term fun - students will surprise themselves at how good (and bad in some cases!) their estimates are, whilst learning interesting and new facts at the same time. Tried and tested with my own classes for several years, students love it!

Puzzling Problems! "One page wonder" Brainteasers and Problem Solving Edition

(1)
A great fun resource on problem solving ideal for end of term, breakout week, maths clubs or just for fun! 5 double sided pages of puzzles, each one containing problem solving tasks along with number problems, riddles, jokes and visual puzzles. Suitable for a variety of ages (who doesn't love a puzzle!) and all answers are included. Easy to print /copy and could be laminated ready to use again. The sheets are set up with points for each task, so it could be run as a team competition to see who can get the most points (for riddles and jokes the answer is provided, but I give them a point for any answer with a sensible explanation!)
